A new Avatar Generations trailer has landed, showcasing some of the gameplay from the upcoming free-to-play mobile RPG. Slated to arrive "soon", the game will let you build a team consisting of iconic characters from the Avatar franchise and participate in tactical battles.
In the trailer, we see Avatar characters like Aang, Toph, and Suki doing battle with their respective elements. You'll be able to construct teams made up of different combinations of these heroes, setting them up to perform powerful combos and use devastating Ultimate abilities. You can take a look at the new Avatar Generations trailer here to see what kind of gameplay the devs are going for.
Combat takes place on a "tactical grid", according to the devs, and you'll be able to place your heroes in various formations to receive different battle benefits. Heroes can also be upgraded with different gear and enchantments, so you should be able to build a range of different loadouts to suit various situations.
Outside of combat, you'll be able to explore the Four Kingdoms of the Avatar setting, taking part in "puzzle-like exploration". Key moments from the franchise will be represented in the game, but there will also be new stories to experience. If you're a Korra fan and you're worried your favorite characters won't make it in, don't be; new Avatar Timelines will open up as you play, including the Rise of Kyoshi timeline and The Legend of Korra.
It's a pretty good time to be an Avatar fan right now. The official tabletop RPG, Avatar Legends, brings the show's signature elemental combat and rich storytelling to a role-playing setting, and if you're more of a videogame fan, then you can check out the new Avatar Legends DLC for block-building sandbox Minecraft.
Avatar Generations will be available on iOS and Android devices "soon". You can pre-register for it via the official website if you like. The more pre-registrations the game gets, the more bonuses players will get when Avatar Generations launches, so if you want some swanky in-game goods, you know what to do.
