Today's Ubisoft Forward presentation gave us a look at what's coming for the Assassin's Creed franchise in the near future. We got a first look at the VR-only Assassin's Creed Nexus, as well as a brief glimpse of the open-world mobile RPG Assassin's Creed Jade and much more.
Assassin's Creed Nexus revealed for Meta Quest devices
First up, we got to see gameplay for Assassin's Creed Nexus, which will be released for Meta Quest devices. It'll give you the chance to inhabit the lives of three iconic Assassins: Odyssey's Kassandra, Assassin's Creed III's Connor, and Assassin's Creed II's Ezio. You can check out the trailer for the game here.
Assassin's Creed Codename Jade is a mobile RPG coming soon
Next, we got to see Assassin's Creed Codename Jade, a mobile open-world RPG set in Ancient China. You will explore a world filled with "ancient history and hidden dangers", and a closed beta is also on the way soon, allowing you to experience it for yourself. Check out the cinematic premiere trailer for Assassin's Creed Codename Jade right here.
Assassin's Creed Mirage returns to the series' roots
After the aforementioned reveals, it's Assassin's Creed Mirage's turn to take the stage. We've already seen gameplay and developer commentary for this more focused-looking Assassin's Creed game, but today's showcase gave us an in-depth look at one of Basim's missions, as well as a story trailer setting up Basim's journey through 9th-century Baghdad. Here's the story trailer.
Here's an extended look at gameplay, which shows Basim sneaking through Baghdad, choosing tools to upgrade, and dealing with some guards, as well as climbing some of the distinctive and beautiful architecture. We also get to see Basim's avian companion, Enkidu (cute name), scouting the area for him, identifying targets, and generally acting like a helpful lil' good birb.
Assassin's Creed Mirage is due to launch for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox on October 12th. You can check out all of the other reveals, trailers, and announcements at Ubisoft Forward right here.
