Today Bandai Namco Entertainment announced the closed beta of its upcoming anime extraction shooter Synduality: Echo of Ada.

The beta will launch later this month on March 28 and will end on April 1 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Registrations are already available on the official site.

The beta will let you enjoy the following features.

  • Sortie
  • Item Shop
  • Requests/Bounties (limited)
  • Base customization (limited)
  • Magus customization (limited)
  • Crafting

The announcement was accompanied by a trailer showing off gameplay, which places the player at the controls of a Cradlecoffin Mecha and accompanied by a MAGUS AI companion to gather resources (and fight over them) in a hostile environment.

You can watch it below.

A second trailer introducing the game's world and setting was also released.

Unfortunately this one is only available in Japanese, but you can find it below anyway.

If you're unfamiliar with Synduality: Echo of Ada, it's coming for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. While it was originally announced with a 2023 release window. A new release window has not been announced just yet and even today's press release makes no mention of it.

It's actually a mixed-media franchise featuring an anime series that has already been released and it currently available to stream on Disney+. Watching it is a good way to get to know the setting, which is certainly rather interesting.

I tried the game a few months ago at a pre-Tokyo Game Show even in Tokyo, and you can read my hands-on preview. That being said, a long time has passed and the game has been delayed since, so we don't know how much the gameplay has changed since then.

If you want to see more, we also have a recent trailer showing the extensive Magus and Mecha customization feature.
