Today Microsoft had quite a few announcements to share during an event dedicated to the Age of Empires franchise, starting with the release window of the highly anticipated Age of Mythology: Retold remaster.
During the livestreamed event, we heard that the game will a released for PC (including Steam) and Xbox Series X|S in 2024, and of course, it'll be on Game Pass on day one, albeit we don't yet know when that day will be.
If you'd like to wishlist the game, the option is already available on Steam.
The game will bring back the mythological version of the Age of Empires franchise, which was originally in 2002, also marking its debut on consoles.
Players will be able to choose their gots among a variety of pantheons including Greek, Norse, Egyptian, and Atlantean, and fight while fielding fantasy units like dragons, centaurs, trolls, mummies, and many more. The campaign will include 50 missions to play through.
New features include the Trials of the Gods which can be played both in single-player and co-op. Multiplayer supports up to 12 players.
For fans of the classic historical Age of Empires, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition is getting a big expansion titled Victors and Vanquished.
It'll include new scenarios like Ragnar Lothbrok, Oda Nobunaga, and Otto the Great. Here's a full list of the content.
