The Knight Witch is a 2D metroidvania, where Rayne becomes a Knight Witch capable of wielding weapons and magic in tandem. By taking on different foes — including the invading fleet of War Golems — Rayne is able to earn the respect of Dungeonidas' citizens, offering her new ways to power up.
Despite the metroidvania setup, The Knight Witch takes inspiration from a number of genres. Battles against the game's large bosses can often resemble shmups with how many bullets are on screen, while spells come in the form of collectable cards.
