The Excavation of Hob's Barrow is a modern point and click adventure game set in the remote English countryside. Antiquarian Thomasina Bateman is visiting the small village of Bewlay to help with writing her book on the barrows of England. However, the one who invited her there is now missing. To make things worse, the locals are less than welcoming to her presence in the village. Thomasina must investigate Bewlay and its barrow, discovering what secrets are hiding in this small village... and the meaning behind the strange dreams that started once she arrived.
The Excavation of Hob's Barrow features detailed sprite art, and an original soundtrack by "The Machine. The Demon." Many elements from the story are also based on real English folklore, giving the game a unique atmosphere.

Upon her arrival, however, the mysterious man who summoned her is nowhere to be found. Her assistant never arrives. A stubborn landowner refuses access to the barrow, and the locals are wary of this woman who is traveling alone and (gasp!) wears trousers.
