Budget Cuts 2: Mission Insolvency is (unsurprisingly) a sequel to the original Budget Cuts that was announced at UploadVR E3 2019. Neat Corp and Fast Travel Games are teaming up to take the original idea behind Budget Cuts and expand it to a much bigger world.
In the first game of this franchise, you had to escape from the headquarters of the evil megacorporation TransCorp. The sequel picks up the story from there where you come upon a horrifying realization: TransCorp is replacing humanity with workaholic robots. The game’s reveal trailer showed the player in a variety of interesting situations including riding atop a moving train, smashing a bot in the face with a mug, and using a bow and arrow to snipe the bad guys from a distance.
The first game was generally well-received, but a lot of people may not be familiar with it. Thankfully, the developers say via a press release that Budget Cuts 2 should work perfectly fine as a standalone title, so it isn’t a huge deal if you haven’t played the first game in the franchise. (It is pretty good though, and you may as well pick up the first game on Steam if it’s the kind of thing that interests you.)
Budget Cuts 2: Mission Insolvency will be launched on VR headsets sometime in 2019. No price has been announced. In the meantime, you can check out the Budget Cuts 2: Mission Insolvency Reveal Trailer below to get an idea of how this upcoming game plays out.
