Today at Sony’s State of Play event we got an update on upcoming VR title Blood & Truth.
The trailer opens up showing that you’re playing as Ryan Marks, a man who’s currently facing quite a lot of jail time for crimes like murder and arson. While he sarcastically sums up his week, we see events like his family being held hostage, running and jumping out of a window, and shooting out the tires of moving vehicles in a dramatic action-packed highway chase. The whole trailer features a distinct James Bond-ish vibe to it.
Blood & Truth is a sort of sequel to the London Heist segment of 2016’s PlayStation VR Worlds. Since it was the clear favorite of the bunch, London Studio went ahead and spun it off into a full game. While London Heist was a quick on-rails experience, Blood & Truth will see you moving around. In addition to this, the game will have all sorts of fun weapons that you can use. To access them all you have to do is look down at your body and literally pull them off of you.
In a blog post about the game, Simon Hermitage mentioned that the team really wanted to capture the Hollywood action movie feel. To assist with this they brought on producer Rick Porras, who has worked on films like Lord of the Rings trilogy. Additionally, actor Colin Salmon, who was recently seen in Mortal Engines, will be lending his talents to the game. The game will also feature a soundtrack that features a 90-person orchestra.
Blood & Truth will launch exclusively on PlayStation VR on May 28th, 2019. If you pre-order the game you’ll get a trio of PlayStation Network avatars, a digital art book, and a digital soundtrack.
