Sony's press conference has now come and gone and within plenty of information on some of their hottest upcoming titles including The Last of Us Part II, Spider-Man, and the highly anticipated Death Stranding.

Shawn Layton takes to the stage first and after making a few jokes about the venue Layton explained that for this year a smaller venue was necessary for what they wanted to show off. Gustavo Santoria takes the stage first to play banjo for a moment before the first trailer is shown. The Last of Us II is the first of the games that are getting a deep dive. As the trailer comes up we see an older Ellie standing in a similarly styled church. From this trailer, we learn a bit about the settlement and life that Ellie is now living. After a brief dance and a surprise kiss, the scene had a dramatic shift to Ellie dispatching of a human out in the forest. Sneaking up to an encampment a man on a noose got stabbed before a search began for Ellie. While the game has retained many of its stealth mechanics and crafting from this trailer as Sony has been advertising it's a lot darker in theme. After being spotted Ellie quickly and brutally gets rid of the witnesses before she starts getting shot at. The antagonists of the trailer seem to keep referring to Ellie as Wolf, what that means though is still unclear. Once pinned it becomes all the more important for Ellie to use surprise to her advantage otherwise she risks her life. In this scene, we see the attacker showing that they've been beaten and have stopped resisting, at this point instead of leaving them alive Ellie chooses to behead him with a machete, showing an extremely dark turn for her character.

After a brief intermission while those watching in person move on to a new venue we hear briefly from Shawn Layton again about how Naughty Dog is pulling out all the stops for this title. During this discussion, we did hear that God Of War will be receiving a New Game + mode. Further updates are a new trailer for Call of Duty IIII, four maps from previous Black Ops will be remastered including Forest, Summit, Slums, and Firing Range. These maps will also be coming to Black Ops III as well. Tonight there is a surprise PS+ game drop and it will be Black Ops III. After showing off what they announced earlier this week a trailer for Destiny 2: Forsaken was shown.

Ghosts of Tsushima is the next of Sony's big titles to be shown next. The next location is a large round room and as the stream enters we're treated to a pipe player before a trailer for the game plays. On the edge of a bamboo forest, a storm is brewing as we see a man appear on the screen. The man approaches a settlement that has been decimated by the Mongol invasion and comes across the Osuna Wildlands. Upon meeting another warrior the main character quickly dispatches him with his sword. We see some of the traversal options as the main character climbs into a temple, dropping down on some unsuspecting foes and saving the priest. After another display of sword fighting the trailer ends.

Following up from that immediately was first a guitar playing banana and a surprise trailer for Control. From the trailer, we see a female protagonist with plenty of powers able to move objects with her mind. This is a game from Remedy and 505 games and will be coming in 2019.

The next trailer has us looking at the world from an extremely small view. The view scurries up various shelving, even by an original Playstation, before getting crushed after the structure falls. Getting a better look at the action we can see that this trailer is for Resident Evil 2 Remake. Like the other updated classic Resident Evil games, it now supports a third-person over the shoulder camera angles for players less familiar with the classic tank controls. Resident Evil 2 will be out January 25th, 2019 and pre-orders will open today.

From Squanch Games a new game Trover Saves the Universe was shown in the way that only the creators of Rick and Morty could. This game will be exclusive to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR.

A new world in Kingdom Hearts was shown off as we return to Pirates of the Carribean. This seems to be a world based on the third movie in the franchise and will feature ship to ship combat. Underwater combat was also shown with Sora riding heartless and doing plenty more. Once again the trailer ends with Utada Hikari's new track. We also learn the Organization is searching for some kind of box. Replica Riku also makes an appearance.

Death Stranding is the next game to be shown, beginning with the strange internal baby once more. As we all know it's a Death Stranding trailer, describing it will mean nothing so I'm just going to link it below. Some information that isn't too abstract is that Norman Reedus' character is called Sam and that Lea Seudoux is joining the cast of this highly anticipated game.

Following on from that Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja is Nioh 2. Not much more information is revealed about the title at this point.

For their next big title, Spider-man was shown. In the trailer we see Spider-Man making his way into a locked down prison facility when attacked by Electro who quickly releases the rest of the prisoners. We get to see Spidey using his abilities and easily dispatching of them we see Rhyno and Scorpion providing a bit more resistance. As the battle rages, even Vulture and Mr Negative get in the fray. With their combined powers they begin to show they're more than a match for Spider-Man.

With that final trailer we get a brief recap of everything that we've seen and with that, the show is over. After the conference is closed though there's one last game to be announced, a VR title from FromSoft. The trailer shows a painting on a wall with a baby surrounded by wildlife. The trailer shows Deracine and quite a departure from their traditional games.
