Sony has announced the games that will be joining the Instant Game Collection as the PlayStation Plus August games.

First up is the WipEout Omega Collection, which includes WipEout 2048WipEout HD, and the HD Fury expansion altogether for the PlayStation 4. This high-speed anti-gravity racing collection brings some of the classic PlayStation racers to a wider audience being on PlayStation Plus with the updated art assets. Online multiplayer with up to eight players is available along with splitscreen two-player races. For those who want to go high-tech and don't experience vertigo, you can play all of this entirely in PlayStation VR.

Those who want a more action-heavy experience have their wishes answered with the second PlayStation Plus August game. Sniper Elite 4 might not be anywhere near as fast-paced or high-octane as WipEout but it drops you in the Italian peninsula where you can scout out, use the environment and snipe enemies in a variety of ways. While utilizing your rifle is the classic way - and perhaps the best to see the series X-Ray Kill Cam in all its gory details -  there are traps, explosives, melee takedowns and more at your disposal in Sniper Elite 4. If you want to learn more about Sniper Elite 4, check out the TechRaptor review right here.

Sniper Elite 4 and WipEout Omega Collection will be available as the PlayStation Plus August games starting on August 6 and stay available through September 2. That means you still have a few days left to get the PlayStation Plus July Games before you can't add them to your collection. Until August 5, you'll be able to download Detroit: Become Human Deluxe Edition and Horizon Chase Turbo on PlayStation 4 when, barring another last-minute change like last month (which saw Detroit replace Pro Evolution Soccer), Sniper Elite 4 and WipEout Omega Collection will take over as games available to download as part of the instant game collection.
