Later on this week Nintendo is going to be hosting a Nintendo Direct to talk about the Monster Hunter franchise and their plans for its future. The Nintendo Direct will take place on Thursday, October 27th at 8PM local Japanese time—that’s 7AM ET or 4AM PDT. If you want to know what that is specifically for your time zone, you can use this countdown timer.
The Nintendo Direct will be hosted by Ryozo Tsujimoto, the producer of the Monster Hunter Series. During the Monster Hunter Nintendo Direct, there is expected to be information about the release of Monster Hunter Stories, a spin off set within the universe that recently had an anime series begin. Another game that is expected to be talked about is Monster Hunter Generations, where they may talk about the free monthly DLC for November or about the general reception of the game. Aside from that, the rest of the content of the Nintendo Direct is unknown.
For Nintendo fans eager to learn more about the recently announced Nintendo Switch, previously called the NX, Nintendo has released a statement explaining that they will not be releasing any more information on the upcoming platform. This, of course, includes any information about Monster Hunter on the Switch.
The Monster Hunter franchise has been a big seller for Capcom since its original release back in 2004. With a main series of games, a spin-off game, and an anime series currently airing, there’s no doubt that it is larger than its ever been. This Nintendo Direct shows not only Capcom’s confidence in the series but also Nintendo’s as the series has mostly become a Nintendo 3DS franchise.
Are you excited to see what is in store for the Monster Hunter franchise? Do you want to see more content coming to Monster Hunter Generations or are you curious about the next step for the franchise?
