League Worlds

Earlier today, the European LCS and the North American LCS finished their regional qualifiers, also known as the gauntlet. The gauntlet is a format used to determine who gets the 3rd and final seed for both the EU and NA regions for Worlds. Europe started the day with Unicorns of Love taking on Origen. After a grueling 5 game series, Origen defeated Unicorns of Love to secure their trip to Worlds. Across the pond, North American LCS was getting ready to kick off. Team Liquid, who were dominate all split long, would be going up against C9.

For those not following the scene, Cloud 9 was coming off their worst split ever during the summer. Cloud 9 were on the brink of relegation to the challenger series after losing their jungler Meteos in the middle of season. The team then turned to mid laner Hai to fill in the empty jungle role, even though Hai had just recently retired. Cloud 9 managed to avoid relegation and get into the gauntlet where they went on to pull of the miracle run. They had defeated every team in the gauntlet, including the series today against Team Liquid in which C9 won 3-1. So, after all the action today, we now have all 3 seeds for both the EU and NALCS. Representing the EULCS is 1st seed Fnatic, 2nd is H2K Gaming, and finally 3rd seed Team Origin. Over in North America we have 1st seed CLG followed by 2nd seed TSM and 3rd seed Cloud 9.

More teams from around the world will continue to qualify for Worlds over the next few weeks. The teams will be arranged in groups and pools to determine who they will face at the start of Worlds—the grouping would be too confusing to type out so if you wish to view how the teams will be arranged you can check out the official post on Riot's website here. Worlds are set to provide some amazing matches, but we do have to wait a few weeks. Until then you can watch the EU and NA Challenger Series promotion tournament taking place this weekend and don't about other regions qualify as well.
