Popular DC fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Us is getting a sequel come May and it has now been confirmed there will be a mobile version of Injustice 2 as well. The first game received the mobile treatment with touch based controls and in-app purchases and it seems the second installment in the franchise will also. Creative Director of NetherRealm Studios, Developer of Injustice 2, Ed Boon recently tweeted an affirmation that the title is mobile bound.

Boon writes on Twitter, “Yes #Injustice2 is coming to mobile! Brand new app with tons of new features, modes & all new combat system! More info soon!”.  The new mobile game will feature favorite DC heroes and villains with a combat system that has been changed and presumably updated from the previous Injustice mobile game. Gods Among Us was available on iOS and Android so it’s sequel likely will too.

A lot of information regarding the roster for Injustice 2 has already been revealed. New characters Black Canary, Swamp Thing and Wonder Woman’s nemesis Cheetah have been confirmed for the game. The return of Gotham Sirens Catwoman, Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn have also been confirmed. Other playable characters will include Batman, Superman, Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Blue Beetle, Gorilla Grodd, The Flash, Aquaman, the Damian Wayne incarnation of Robin and Atrocitus. Suicide Squad versions of Harley Quinn and Deadshot will also be included in the game.

Injustice 2 has a new story picking up where the first game left off. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has previously announced pre-order DLC and two special editions including DLC characters, skins and shader packs. You can watch the story trailer and read more details about the different editions of Injustice 2 here.

Injustice 2 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One is releasing on May 16, 2017. A launch time frame for the mobile version of the game has not been confirmed. More information regarding Injustice 2 for mobile will be coming soon.
