It's that time of year again. Leaves will start to fall, the temperature will drop, and kids everywhere are marching forlornly back to school. To mark this solemn occasion (and perhaps to make it a bit more palatable), the folks over at GOG are holding a new sale, and this one's a real killer. The "Back To School" Sale sees over 400 games on offer at up to 90% off their standard retail prices. The school theme doesn't extend to the games, so there's a massive variety of stuff up for grabs including BattleTech (our review), Elex, Pillars of Eternity: Definitive Edition (our review) and many, many more.
In the incredibly unlikely event that you don't see anything you're interested in, GOG is also promising a stream of flash sales which will appear "on the hour, every hour" and offer higher discounts on games than the main Back To School Sale. Today's Flash Deals include CRPG Torment: Tides of Numenera, slime-wrangling sim Slime Rancher, and oddball action-adventure title Yono and the Celestial Elephants. New deals will be added to the site every hour, so be sure to check back if there's nothing that floats your boat right now.
In addition to sale-related festivities, GOG is offering a trove of new titles as part of its GOG Connect program. GOG Connect allows users to connect their Steam accounts to GOG, granting them DRM-free copies of eligible games already in their Steam library. The games offered via GOG Connect are part of temporary deals made with participating developers and publishers, so don't miss your chance to import these games if you want to use them with GOG instead of Steam.
