Today solo developer Damian Kubiak revealed a few details about the first DLC for the mecha action game Mecha Knights: Nightmare.

The DLC was originally announced in October 2022 and now we learn from the new reveal made on Steam that development is going smoothly and is on track for a release later this year.

We also learn that the DLC will introduce a new chapter to the story including 7 missions and 4 raids:

Players will follow Ethan and the Echo team as they confront challenges and adversaries in a mission to save the allied forces at Suez Canal from a new Red swarm. Additionally, two new characters will join the team and aid them in their mission.

New mecha customization parts will include:

  • APS, an active protection system mounted on the mech's shoulders that shoots down incoming large projectiles. It recharges using the mech's battery.
  • New assault rifle with a mounted grenade launcher that can launch additional grenade projectiles with every few shots
  • A lot of new mech parts

New threats from the Reds will include new enemy types and structures like Hives that spawn enemies until destroyed. Last, but not least, we'll get the ability to change the difficulty level before each mission. Below, you can check out a few images shared by Kubiak.

If you're unfamiliar with Mecha Knights: Nightmare, it's a story-driven mecha game inspired by media like the Muv-Luv series, Blue Gender, Armored Core, Front Mission, Earth Defense Force, and Resident Evil.

The game is currently available for PC via Steam, and we have a review here on TechRaptor, praising the smooth and fast-moving robots, intense encounters, customization, and more.
