THQ Nordic has announced the Gothic 1 Remake Collector's Edition, which lets you drop a princely $200 on a special version of the game with lots of extra bells and whistles. The catch? We still don't know when it's coming out.

The announcement for the Collector's Edition refers to it as "a must-have for devoted fans and those who are about to become fans". As most collector's editions do, this one contains tons of extra goodies in addition to a copy of the game.

The centerpiece of the collection is a Sleeper Wall Mask that's roughly 13 inches wide and about 9 inches tall. THQ Nordic says it'll help you to show "everyone in your gaming colony what demons you are facing".

The Sleeper Wall Mask included in the Gothic 1 Remake Collector's Edition is admittedly pretty cool.

Other goodies include a genuine leather notebook in which to write all of your vaguely-worded quests, as well as a copy of the game's original soundtrack, a leather wristband, and, of course, a copy of Gothic 1 Remake.

THQ Nordic says the Collector's Edition will be limited to 7,500 copies, so you'd better make sure to act fast if you want to secure yours, although we still don't know when you'll actually be getting it, unfortunately.

You can take a look at the Gothic 1 Remake Collector's Edition trailer, which shows off some of its goodies in close detail, right here.

Gothic 1 Remake first appeared via a playable teaser surprise-released by THQ Nordic back in December 2019, with the aim of the teaser being to gauge interest in a full-blown remake.

After fans showed strong interest in the prospect of a remake for janky but beloved 2001 RPG Gothic, the project was greenlit, and Barcelona studio Alkimia Interactive was created by THQ Nordic in order to shepherd the game.

Since then, Gothic 1 Remake details have been trickling through, but we still don't have a release date or even a release window for the project yet, so we'll have to wait for more info, it seems.

In the meantime, the original Gothic made its way to Switch back in August last year, and its sequel followed suit in November, so you can check those out if you want to get started with Piranha Bytes' cult classic series (although the studio isn't involved with this remake).
