As we reach the conclusion of a really rough week for Cyberpunk 2077 and developer CD Projekt RED, there's finally some good news available. Cyberpunk 2077 update 1.05 is out now on PlayStation and Xbox consoles, with a release soon to come on PC and Stadia.

Focused on fixing a number of bugs, the update has over 70 fixes. Some of the most notable include a variety of quests misfiring in relation to quests like The Ripperdoc where it sometimes wouldn't end properly, The Heist which had elevator door issues (you can stop walking through the steel now Jackie), and a variety of bugs related to Delamain. Other general fixes include improving NPCs taking cover, off-screen explosions making noise, and a number of stability improvements, including some much needed crash fixes.

There were also platform specific fixes. On PC, CD Projekt is removing the debug console as they are concerned it could lead to crashes or blocked quests, but promise more news on modding in the future, and the Steam overlay will no longer crash on shutting down the game. Console versions will no longer have settings resetting to default after several session restarts, and there will be improved image sharpness with Chromatic Aberration and Film Grain on.

As you can see update 1.05 is focused on fixing some of the many, many bugs and technical issues in the game. In fact, the which has seen unprecedented steps taken by both Sony and Microsoft offering refunds, as well as retailers like Best Buy with CD Projekt Red pledging to provide a refund if the company you purchased it from is unwilling to. This is an early patch of a number that are needed to get the game into the shape promised by CD Projekt RED, who have pledged for larger patches in December and January.
