Cyberpunk 2077 refunds are now being 100% guaranteed by CD Projekt Red prior to the December 21, 2020 deadline — even if it has to pay for them out of its own pocket.
We're now officially in the second week of Cyberpunk 2077's launch and the refund saga continues to develop. Thus far, CD Projekt Red has announced refunds for PS4 and Xbox One; this was soon followed by Sony pulling the game from the PlayStation Store. Earlier today, Microsoft expanded its refund policy for digital purchases of the game "until further notice," irrespective of CDPR's December 21 deadline.
CD Projekt Red has faced a fair amount of criticism for the game's shaky launch and responded appropriately by allowing any dissatisfied customers to get their money back. Now, the company has made an even more ambitious move by offering to pay for the refunds out of its own pocket if necessary.

CD Projekt Red has already begun to reach out to people who sent messages regarding refunds. These communications are being sent out in waves, so it advises players not to worry too much if they haven't heard back just yet.
The most impressive new information, however, is that CD Projekt Red is essentially guaranteeing refunds, just to be safe.
"At the same time, we'd like you to know that our intention is for every owner of a physical copy, or a digital copy bought at retail, who has valid proof of purchase (and sends us an email at helpmerefund@cdprojektred.com within the time window) to receive a refund," read a tweet on the game's official account. "We will do this out of our pocket if necessary. If you are unable to obtain a refund for the game from the store where you bought it, please contact us via e-mail until December 21st [2020]. As this is a one-time initiative, we will provide everyone with next steps only after the refund request submission window closes."
The announcement closes by advising gamers with digital copies to follow the appropriate refund process for the platform on which they purchased the game. Beyond that, you have until December 21, 2020, to guarantee your Cyberpunk 2077 refunds before this one-time offer goes away for good.
