Fans of tabletop war games are at least familiar with Games Workshop's work. In addition to the grimdark sci-fi world of Warhammer 40k receiving ongoing support for its various armies, there is the high fantasy war game, Warhammer: Age of Sigmar. Both series have received substantial support recently. In addition to a substantive points update for both games, Warhammer 40k's Chaos Space Marines got a new Codex, and Age of Sigmar's Sylvaneths and Skaven armies have received new battletomes. Now, Warhammer: Age of Sigmar will be getting a new battle box, called Arcane Cataclysm.
What is in Warhammer: Age of Sigmar Arcane Cataclysm?
According to the official Warhammer-Community post, the Arcane Cataclysm battlebox will feature the Lumineth Realm-lords and the Disciples of Tzeentch. The trailer for the battlebox frames the battle between these two armies as a hunt for magical artifacts within the lands of Hysh at the command of the Changer of the Ways. Whoever uncovers these secrets first will play in important part of the fate of the Mortal Realms going forward. The battlebox will contain 55 miniatures spanning both of these armies, featuring new and updated appearances. For the Lumineth Realm-lords, these new miniatures include the Scinari Enlightener, Vanari Dawnriders, Vanari Bladelords, and Vanari Auralan Sentinels. For those fond of the forces of Chaos, the Disciples of Tzeentch will have new miniatures for their Curseling, Tzaangor Enlightened, Kairic Acolytes, and Tzaangor units.
In addition, the Arcane Cataclysm battlebox will contain material for new players to get into Warhammer: Age of Sigmar. This includes a 56-page core rulebook, battleplans, a token sheet, and warscroll cards for all units in the box. Like all other released battleboxes, you and your friends can just pick this up and learn to play with everything provided.
When Will Warhammer: Age of Sigmar Arcane Cataclysm Be Available?
At time of writing, there is no release date or MSRP for the Warhammer: Age of Sigmar Arcane Cataclysm battlebox. However, as always, if you wish to stay up to date on release dates and support, there is the official Games Workshop newsletter.
