Yet another Cyberpunk 2077 tabletop game has been announced. This dystopian dark future has seen several adaptations with Gangs of Night City and Edgerunners: Combat Zone, but now Go On Board and CD Projekt will be co-designing and publishing the boldly titled Cyberpunk 2077: The Board Game.

The Cyberpunk 2077: The Board Game Announcement

According to a Dicebreaker report, Cyberpunk 2077: The Board Game is a co-op action-adventure game. It is an adaptation of the videogame adaptation developed by CD Projekt Red, set in the universe created by Mike Pondsmith. It depicts a dark alternate-history world packed with massive technological leaps; and rampant corporate capitalism.

Is it worth the humanity loss? Absolutely.

Cyberpunk 2077: The Board Game has players exploring the iconic California metropolis of Night City and getting wrapped up in a major narrative campaign. Players can take on the roles of either mercenary V (Male or Female), braindance editor Judy Alvarez, truck-driving nomad Panam Palmer, or lovable solo Jackie Welles.

Players can find and complete jobs, gaining credits and renown along the way. In these missions, players will be involved in shootouts, stealth, and hacking, as well as meaningful choices through cooperative interactions. These choices may need to be unlockable characters. A single session of the board game can take 45-60 minutes.

This isn't the first time Go On Board has worked alongside CD Projekt. The developer's past work includes The Witcher: Old World board game, an adaptation of the award-winning videogames based on the Polish fantasy book series.

The announcement trailer for Cyberpunk 2077: The Board Game provides some additional info. According to the trailer, this board game will be a big box experience, potentially bigger than The Witcher: Old World. In addition, it has been playtested for both solo as well as co-op play.

Lastly, the trailer mentions that the crowdfunding campaign for the board game will be on Gamefound. Better still, for campaign followers and first-day backers, you will get an extra gift at no additional cost: an exclusive miniature of Male V with Mantis Blade arms.
