Wild Arms and Shadow Hearts' spiritual successors are officially underway, and on August 29th, their "double Kickstarter" campaign launches to fund both JRPGs in tandem. These games will share funding in order to reach the goal of bringing the content to PC and Consoles faster than ever.

The upcoming JRPGs will be titled Armed Fantasia: To the End of the Wilderness and Penny Blood, and simply based on what we have seen so far from these two developers, we are highly interested in whats to come. The total goal amount for funding is at $750k, but this is only to release both games via PC, not console. In order to release on all platforms, the companies have created something called a "stretch goal". They have also implanted different pledge levels, the first of which being called the "Early-Bird Combo", where those who fund early will be able to pledge for both of the upcoming games at a discounted price.

There will also be a "Combo Meter" added to the campaign, and this meter will affect both of the stretch goals for each of the JRPGs. Basically, this means that as you fund one game, you also fund the other, making it much easier for both games to see the light of day as soon as possible. Both games come with several features that differ from the other while remaining of the same caliber. For example, Shadow Hearts comes with the western punk feel that we saw from Wild Arms, while Penny Blood will be teeming with a gothic aesthetic and a horror feel, but both will remain in that typical JRPG genre.

Akifumi Kaneko, the creator of Wild Arms, and Shadow Hearts creator Matsuzo Machida made a few comments in regards to the campaign to VGC, where they stated,

"The core connective tissue is both are games that JRPG fans love. It’s hard to say how many people played both but by combining both games into one campaign the goal is to raise awareness for both titles.Neither have been as popular as a Final Fantasy so this is two creators helping each other in an effort for both to achieve success."

The Kickstarter campaign will go live on August 29, 2022, at 9 am PT and 5 pm BST.
