Coming To PC In 2020
Canadian developer Freebird Games has announced the third game in its loosely linked To The Moon series. Impostor Factory is a "bonkers time-loop tragicomedy murder mystery" that's coming to Steam, GOG, and Humble Store in late 2020.
In Impostor Factory, you'll play as Quincy, a man who's invited to a party at a secluded mansion. Once Quincy reaches the mansion, he discovers a time machine in its bathroom. Soon after this discovery, people at the party begin to die, and according to Impostor Factory's Steam page, "things get a little Lovecraftian and tentacles are involved". Seems like the tone is decidedly more comedic this time around. Here's the trailer for Impostor Factory:
According to Freebird, around one-third of Impostor Factory will focus on the above premise. The Steam page mentions To The Moon's Dr. Rosalene and Dr. Watts, so expect them to pop up in some capacity. Freebird says you won't need to have played To The Moon or its sequel Finding Paradise in order to enjoy Impostor Factory. The dev is remaining tight-lipped about whether this is a direct sequel or not; suffice to say it definitely takes place within the same universe. Supposedly, this will be "Episode X" of the long-running To The Moon saga. Guess you'll just have to play it to find out.
Impostor Factory will launch for PC via Steam, GOG, and the Humble Store in late 2020. Freebird says it will mark "the end of an era" for both the studio and the series. If you want to keep up with the game's progress, you can do so via the official website. Of course, we'll keep you posted once we've got a concrete release date or some more gameplay details.
