Steins;Gate 0 Set to Release November 25th/29th in the West

Steins;Gate 0, the sequel/prequel/what-have-you to the beloved Visual Novel Steins;Gate will release for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on November 25th for Europe, and November 29th for North America. The game/VN closely follows the true ending of the previous title, exploring the other underlying circumstances that would've had to happen for the original story to reach the conclusion it did. To go into any more detail would spoil the story for the original Steins;Gate, so I won't go any further, but for those of you that have already played/read the original (or don't mind getting spoiled) a post has been uploaded to the PlayStation.Blog, detailing a bit of what has gone into the VN's localization, as well as introducing some of the new aspects of the story. It's well worth the read.

We've previously reported about how the title has received a Rice Digital exclusive Limited Edition - titled the Amadeus Edition - as well as the recent release of the original Steins;Gate on Steam. The title also received a PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3 release last year, also thanks to PQube Games, the publisher behind Steins;Gate 0's upcoming western release. Although Steins;Gate 0 recently received a PC release in Japan, so far there has been no news regarding a translation of the PC release for the west.

Stay tuned for our review, coming closer to the title's launch.

Quick Take

I didn't read the original Steins;Gate until earlier this year, but once I finally did the wait for Steins;Gate 0 to come to the west has been downright brutal. Anyone else that has already read and enjoyed the previous VN and is familiar with the basic premise of Steins;Gate 0 will probably tell you the same thing; it's primed to be one of the best stories in gaming this year, especially considering the reception for the title in Japan.
