Square Enix recently announced Star Ocean: The Last Hope Remaster, a full 4K and HD update, for PC and PS4. The announcement came during a recent Square Enix livestream, and marks the first time any Star Ocean game will release on PC. Star Ocean: The Last Hope Remaster will support full HD on the PS4, and provide resolutions up to 4K on the PS4 Pro. The PC version will also come with a screenshot mode that will remove the UI, as well as supporting keyboard and controller inputs, reports Siliconera.

Gematsu has further translations, reporting that the remaster is of the International version of Star Ocean: The Last Hope originally released on the PS3 and supporting dual-audio. Furthermore, the PS4 version will come with trophy and Share button support, as well as pack in the ability to change image settings (shadows, blur, etc.). The PC version will release on Steam with Steam achievements, and also feature the same image support, as well as support various resolutions. Star Ocean: The Last Hope Remaster is a digital-only release for 2,800 yen (roughly 25.00 USD), and will release on November 28th.

Star Ocean: The Last Hope Remaster is the fourth Star Ocean title to get released on the PS4, and as stated above, the first on PC. Star Ocean: Till the End of Time, the third game in the series, received an updated port back in May, and Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness released last summer to mixed reviews. Star Ocean: Second Evolution, a remake of the second game in the series, Star Ocean: The Second Story, released on the PS4 two years ago exclusively for Japan, six years after its re-release on the PSP, and sixteen years after its initial launch.

With the Steam release, it is reasonable to expect that Square Enix will be localizing the Star Ocean: The Last Hope Remaster into English sometime soon, especially with the original release having duo audio options. It is far less likely that the Star Ocean: Second Evolution release will see an English-language translation, considering the time since its release on the PS4 and the fact that Square Enix has no current plans to do so. Still, the hope remains. Star Ocean: The Last Hope Remaster launches on November 28th in Japan.
