Those waiting to get their hands on Banjo-Kazooie in Smash Ultimate can finally play the bear-bird duo. In addition to that, another Smash Ultimate character was announced: Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury. There is just one more character for the Fighter Pass, but Nintendo just announced that DLC fighters aren't done yet either. There will be more DLC characters in the future.
After the Direct, Sakurai will be doing a deep dive on Banjo-Kazooie, so if you want to learn all you can about playing the duo in Smash, keep an eye out for that video. In that video, Sakurai had some more Smash Ultimate announcements.
First, the long-awaited Homerun Contest is making its way into Smash Ultimate! This time, you can actually do it with a second player if you want as well. Sakurai stated this is the final new game mode coming to Smash Ultimate.
Aside from that new mode, several new Mii Fighter costumes were shown off, which you can get for $.75 each. One of them is Sans from Undertale, which also comes with a music track made by Undertale creator Toby Fox just for Smash Ultimate. So if you're a Mega Man X fan, Undertale, or want to be a member of Team Rocket, now you can in Smash. All of these will be available later today.
Additionally, you'll now be able to freely customize your special moves for your Mii Fighter. Downloading uploaded fighters was a bit of a pain before said Nintendo for that reason, so any newly uploaded fighters aver v5.0 will be customizable once downloaded. Any that are currently available, however, will not be customizable.
Three new amiibo were announced too, which come out on September 20th. They are Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Snake.
