NIS America and developer Gotcha Gotcha Games have announced that RPG Maker WITH, the latest installment in the RPG Maker series, is heading West this year.
The game will first come to Nintendo Switch in fall 2024. A PlayStation release is then scheduled for sometime in 2025, although we don't know exactly when just yet.
The announcement trailer for RPG Maker WITH in the West promises that the creation tool will feature "robust yet easy-to-learn tools" and "intuitive controls", which is just as well given that it doesn't appear to be coming to PC.
RPG Maker WITH will allow you to create your very own RPG adventures using a range of built-in visuals and tools.
If it's anything like previous RPG Maker entries, WITH will also come with its own pre-baked music, monster assets, and more, so you should have everything you need to get started out of the box.
You'll also be able to make your own assets for the game, so if you don't like what's on offer, you can make pretty much whatever your mind can conjure.
You'll also be able to share your creations online and play things that others have made, as well as downloading assets and creations generated by the community.
The trailer specifically shows a player perusing a list of beginner items, maps, and gear, so if you do find yourself stuck while you're making your first RPG masterpiece, you should be able to access plenty of help.
RPG Maker WITH is the latest in a string of RPG Maker titles to come to consoles. It's preceded by RPG Maker MV, which was announced for last-gen machines all the way back in July 2018, eventually launching for Switch and PlayStation 4 in 2020.
You'll be able to check out RPG Maker WITH when it launches for Nintendo Switch in fall 2024. A PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 release is subsequently scheduled for 2025.
