Absurd Ventures

Today studio Absurd Ventures broke silence by releasing a trailer that certainly feels like a mission statement.

While the studio's name may or may not ring a bell, it's the studio founded in 2021 by Rockstar co-founder  Dan Houser after he left the house of Grand Theft Auto in 2020.

At the moment, no projects have been announced, and we only get the trailer that shows all manner of footage and a few slogans, alongside the launch of a website and the establishment of social media channels.

The studio's motto appears to be "Storytelling. Philanthropy. Ultraviolence," and its intent is to create storytelling experiences across a wide variety of media including video games.

You can watch the trailer below and try to break its cryptic code, but for now, we'll have to wait and see what Absurd Ventures will do.

A second even more cryptic video titled "Codex" was also shared in the form of a short.

If you're unfamiliar with Dan Houser, he used to be vice president of creativity at Rockstar Games, which he co-founded in 1998. He worked as writer and executive producer on the Grand Theft Auto series and Red Dead Redemption series, on top of other games by the studio like Bully, L.A. Noire, Midnight Club: Los Angeles, and Max Payne 3.
