Today, the Resident Evil 3 development team announced that the Resident Evil Resistance Open Beta test would not be able to go ahead as scheduled on the PS4 and Steam due to a "bug".
Below is the (machine) translated announcement:
PlayStation4 users, Steam users started
on March 27 "Resident Evil Resistance Open Beta Test" is now in a state of not being able to open beta test due to a bug.
We are very sorry to all of you who have been looking forward to the resumption, but we will postpone the implementation of the open beta test on PlayStation4 to determine the cause.
In addition, the open beta test on steam version, which was scheduled to start on March 28, will be postponed as well.
As soon as the cause is investigated and corrected, we will guide you
again.
We apologize to you for postponing the beta test.
I am very sorry for this time. March 27, 2020

There is no indication as to what the bug is, and why only the PS4 and Steam versions of the game are afflicted with the bug and not the Xbox One version of the game as well. If we discover anything else, we'll update this article. Stay tuned.
Quick Take
What's interesting is that a bug is afflicting both the PS4 and Steam releases of Resident Evil Resistance... but the Xbox version is still going ahead as scheduled. Weird. Usually a bug afflicts everything or nothing, not random places or versions. Of course, I know little to nothing about code or development in general, so I'll just sit here and complain, like everyone else affected by this delay. See you all online in a bit, I suppose.
What do you think of this news? Are you a smug Xbox One owner right now playing the beta? Let us know in the comments!
