Rebellion Developments, the British developers famous for several Alien vs. Predator games, have announced four brand new projects in the Sniper Elite series. The announcement was made via a YouTube video put out by the studio to update fans about the series' development heading into 2019. In the video Rebellion CEO, Jason Kingsley talks fans through the new developments as well as thanking fans for their continued support for the series and the company. The first, and possibly most major, announcement in the video is that Rebellion is officially working on a follow-up to Sniper Elite 4. The new game is still in the very early stages of development and no information will be released for at least another year, but it is an exciting prospect for many fans of the series. The video also announced a remastered version of Sniper Elite V2 to be released on all modern hardware and updated with numerous features and upgrades. It will be the first time the game will be available in 4K, but will also include all released DLC for the game as well as a brand new, frame-by-frame photo mode to allow players to take amazing screenshots with pin-point accuracy.
The final two announcements are somewhat smaller but no less exciting. Sniper Elite V3 will be ported to the switch, marking the first time that the game is available on a Nintendo console and allowing fans to play the game on the move. Finally, there is also an unnamed Sniper Elite VR project which is being developed in partnership with Just Add Water, the British studio famous for working on the Oddworld remasters and the Gravity Crush games. As of yet, there are no details on the exact release date of any of these titles but both Sniper Elite V2: Remastered and Sniper Elite V3 for Switch will be released this year, and we can expect more information about the VR title in that timeframe as well.
