SCEE Blog manager Fred Dutton has hinted that the PS4 firmware 2.0 update is coming very soon, as seen in the comments section in this blog post.

Upon questioning by the commenters about future PS4 hardware changes, which Dutton remained tight lipped about, he mentioned that the Firmware 2.0 update might be just around the corner.

"I can't comment on new hardware features today, other than to say that [updates] are always in the works – as previously announced there's a big PS4 update just round the corner that we'll be talking more about soon,” he said.
It is not known for sure what firmware 2.0 will actually feature, but it is poised to be a major update. Further into the comments, Dutton shared how the team chooses PlayStation Plus games.

"We have a global PS Plus team who select the games every month. I'm afraid I can't comment on exactly why they choose particular titles, other than to say they do their very best to pick a diverse line-up of quality games over the three platforms."
I'd imagine that'd be a pretty difficult decision, but considering the warm reception of PlayStation Plus, it seems like they are doing a decent job.

I hope the firmware 2.o update is worth all the hype around it. Last generation console updates were barely news, but since the feature set of the newer consoles is more akin to a desktop computer, even down to the architecture, there's a lot more they can do with it that gets people pretty excited.

What do you want out of the PS4 firmware update? Let us know in the comments.
