Bethesda's Todd Howard has seemingly hinted at an Indiana Jones game reveal for next year.

In a new interview with Esquire, Howard tells writer Shannon Liao "we'll talk next year" with regard to Indiana Jones. Liao says she can "tell [Howard] really wants to" talk more about Indiana Jones, but he can't at the moment.

The interview doesn't have many more details regarding Indiana Jones, but Howard does say that the game will be about exploration, and that Bethesda and Machine Games want to make it feel like you're "playing versus just watching".

Machine Games and Bethesda's Indiana Jones project was officially revealed in January 2021 with a rather barebones teaser.

In that teaser, Indy's signature hat and whip can be seen, alongside a camera bearing the Lucasfilm logo and various other Indiana Jones-related paraphernalia. The teaser doesn't give much away regarding what kind of game we can expect, though.

Rather cheekily, it also turns out that Howard teased the project a few months before it was officially revealed by including some Indiana Jones Easter eggs in an interview regarding Microsoft's acquisition of Bethesda.

Indiana Jones has appeared in many video games, but Machine Games' take isn't likely to be a point-and-click adventure.

The Indiana Jones game isn't the only project Bethesda currently has in the works.

Development on The Elder Scrolls VI is continuing following the game's announcement all the way back in 2018, although back in June, Xbox head Phil Spencer said the game was still five or more years away and that it was impossible to know which platforms it would appear on.

Work on the upcoming Fallout TV series is also well underway, with Howard acting as an executive producer on the show, which will star Kyle MacLachlan, Ella Purnell, and Walton Goggins, among others.

We'll have to wait and see whether this teased Indiana Jones reveal materializes next year. Stay tuned for more on all things Bethesda.
