It's always fun to have some weird Pokemon. Such is the case with Pokemon Sword & Shield, which features Galarian versions of some Pokemon. We now know which Pokemon you can get the Galarian versions of, and which evolve into all-new Pokemon. Galarian forms have different looks, and beyond that will have new special abilities and different movesets than the original Pokemon form. Some of these Pokemon are also different types than their original, giving them just a little bit more of a unique flair.

For starters, the following Pokemon have Galerian versions:

  • Meowth
  • Ponyta
  • Rapidash
  • Farfetch'd
  • Weezing
  • Mr. Mime
  • Corsola
  • Zigzagoon
  • Linoone
  • Darumaka
  • Darmanitan (there are two Galarian versions of this Pokemon)
  • Yamask
  • Stunfisk

In addition to this is a new feature called Galarian Evolutions. There are special, new, Pokemon that only the Galarian versions of Pokemon can evolve into.

  • Galarian Linoone can evolve into Obstagoon
  • Galarian Meowth can evolve into Perrserker
  • Galarian Corsola can evolve into Cursola
  • Galarian Farfetch'd can evolve into Sirfetch'd
  • Galarian Mr. Mime can evolve into Mr. Rime
  • Galarian Yamask can evolve into Runerigus

This time around, if you want to catch them all then you'll need to do some work catching some old friends. It's nice to see a few generation 1 Pokemon that lacked evolved forms, such as Farfetch'd and Mr. Mime, finally get in on the fun. The Galarian evolutions are also a way to help set this feature apart from last generation's Alola forms, by giving the Pokemon something unique and new to turn into.

Pokemon Sword & Shield are currently available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.

How do you feel about these Galerian forms? Any Pokemon that don't have any that you wish had one? Interested in nabbing the Galarian evolutions as well? Let us know in the comments below!
