After many delays and much blood, sweat, and tears, Nintendo has finally launched Pokemon Bank for North American gamers.
Pokemon Bank is an online cloud storage system for storing Pokemon, and the only way to transfer Pokemon from previous generations into the current Generation VI games, Pokemon X and Pokemon Y. Up to 3,000 Pokemon may be stored per Nintendo Network ID.
With Pokemon Bank, you can import Pokemon from any Generation V game (Black, White, Black 2, and White 2), and in conjunction with previous import methods, Pokemon from Generation III (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, and LeafGreen) and Generation IV (Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, and SoulSilver) can also be used in the present generation.
The service is $4.99 per year for North American customers, and can be downloaded on the eShop. As a special bonus, Nintendo is also giving away a special promo Celebi with the special move Hold Back, which only this Celebi can learn. This Celebi is available for all that purchase Pokemon Bank by September 30th.
