A post on the PlayStation Blog today have revealed which games PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to download as part of their subscription in May. Leading the line is Telltale Games'  Tales from the Borderlands. US subscribers will also get access to Abzu on PlayStation 4, Laser Disco Defenders and Type.Rider on PlayStation Vita (both are Cross-buy with PS4) and Blood Knights and Port Royale 3: Pirates and Merchants on PlayStation 3. EU subscribers will get a slight variation on the list, with Alienation replacing Abzu.

Tales from the Borderlands is Telltale Games' episodic adventure game take on Gearbox's Borderlands universe. The game gained high critical praise for its compelling narrative and strong voice performances from a star-studded cast including the likes of Troy Baker and Laura Bailey. You can check out our glowing review of the game here.

Abzu is a relaxing, steadily paced indie game where players control a diver on a journey through the ocean depths. The game is all about the atmosphere and stunning visuals abound throughout its relatively short 3-4 hour journey. Abzu gained high praise from our reviewer for its cohesive use of sound, light, and visual landscapes, check out the full review here.

Alienation, the EU store's alternative to Abzu, couldn't be more different. This top-down, twin-stick shooter from developer Housemarque brings explosions and big guns in place of ambiance and atmosphere. Its stylish blend of shooting and looting in single player and online co-op did win the game some praise from our reviewer, even if he didn't feel the overall package was too compelling, check out the full review here.

For the PS Vita releases, Type:Rider is a platformer with a unique aesthetic based on a variety of fonts and typographical styles. It may look like a minor release here but the reception to the game on Steam has been positive. Laser Disco Defenders is a 2D Bullet Hell game with a retro sci-fi theme, featuring randomly generated levels and character customization. Reviews of the game were mixed but it still came out with an overall rating of 73 on OpenCritic.

For those who'll be downloading the PS3 offerings, Blood Knights is an action adventure game from Deck 13, set in a mythical version of the holy land. The game received mixed reviews when it was released back in 2013 but may hold some interest for those wanting to check out an early game from the developer of Lords of the Fallen and The Surge. Port Royale 3: Pirates and Merchants is a strategy game from Kalypso where players take charge of trade and piracy in the Caribbean's turbulent 17th-century history. The game received some positive reviews among a mixed bag when it released back in 2012.
