Sony's PlayStation Now service has received new content in the form of an update.
A blog post over on the official PlayStation site details some of the things that have been added to the PS4 and PC streaming service, including new PS2 games. In addition, the post details Sony's "summer price promotions", which offer discounts on a PlayStation Now membership, including special reductions for new subscribers and PlayStation Plus members.
First, let's have a look at the games which have been added to the PlayStation Now streaming service. Those games are as follows:
- BlazBlue: Central Fiction
- Dark Cloud (PS2)
- Fantavision (PS2)
- Farming Simulator 17
- Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life Special Edition (PS2)
- MXGP 2 – The Official Motocross Videogame
- Rogue Galaxy (PS2)
- Touhou Genso Rondo: Bullet Ballet
- Umbrella Corps
- Wild Guns
If you don't have a PlayStation Now membership, Sony's currently offering a first month at $9.99 as an introductory offer (the standard monthly rate is $19.99). If you've been a member before, you can still take advantage of a discounted yearly $99.99 membership, and if you're a PlayStation Plus subscriber you can grab 3 months for $29.99. Those last two stand whether you've been a member before or not, so don't worry if you're a lapsed subscriber. These deals run until September 25th, so you've got a little while if you're on the fence.
Of course, if you just want to test the waters, you can grab a 7-day free trial for PlayStation Now. Do note that you'll need to cancel the trial before the 7 days are up, as this is one of those automatic renewal things. New subscribers on a 7-day trial will still be able to take advantage of the $9.99 introductory offer.
This comes only shortly after Sony hiked the price of its PlayStation Vue TV streaming service; all subscription plans for that service will be raised by $5 a month regardless of tier, starting July 24th.
PlayStation Now is a streaming service offered by Sony, which provides users with "unlimited on-demand access to a growing library of over 600 games". You won't need to download these games, but you will need a very stable connection, as they're streamed continuously while you play.
