Team Ranger and Lightning Games have announced the Outpost: Infinity Siege release date.

The ambitious base-building FPS hybrid will arrive on March 26th. It was originally slated to launch in the third quarter of 2023, but was subsequently pushed back to February 2024.

Now, it seems the final release date has been pushed back a little further, but this is arguably a more acceptable delay for anyone who's been waiting for this promising-looking project to arrive.

If you're not familiar with Outpost: Infinity Siege, developer Team Ranger describes it as an "FTD" game, or a hybrid of first-person shooters, tower defense games, and base-building.

As you explore the game's world, you'll gather resources to build and upgrade your outpost, and you'll then have to defend it against attackers.

You'll also have access to the powerful Protoslag Gun, which can be customized with different ammunition to accommodate different playstyles.

Team Ranger and publisher Lightning Games are promising "abundant difficulty levels, diverse gameplay features, and distinctive maps" in Outpost: Infinity Siege's core exploration mode.

Update: the post has been updated with the newest trailer.

Outside of that mode, you'll also be able to enjoy multiplayer co-op, and there's an Endless mode you can play alongside friends in which you must survive until waves of enemies overwhelm you.

If you're a fan of tower defense shooters like Double Fine's Iron Brigade or Sanctum 2, as well as base-builders like Meet Your Maker, then there's a good chance you'll enjoy Outpost: Infinity Siege.

The devs say that Outpost: Infinity Siege will support English, German, French, and Korean "on our launch date", which implies that more language support could be coming later down the line.

Outpost: Infinity Siege launches for PC via Steam on March 26th. You can wishlist the game right now via its official Steam page if you want to keep up with its progress.
