October is almost upon us. With a new month, comes a new set of games for PS Plus subscribers.

Of course, since October is the spookiest month of them all, a horror game is amongst the month's headline games. Asymmetrical multiplayer experience Friday the 13th: The Game is that game.

This comes alongside the very recent news that Black Tower Studios will be taking over the development of the game. This announcement seems to put the game in a much better position than it was a few months prior when publisher Gun Media announced that all future content had been canceled.

If you're looking for a palette-cleanser, however, Laser League, the futuristic sports game from the developers of 2D skate-em-up Olli Olli, is the second headline game for October. 505 Games has now taken over the ongoing development of Laser League, while Roll7 has moved onto other projects.

Laser League is the pinnacle of easy-to-learn but hard-to-master. The top-down sports game is fast, frantic, and loaded with depth.

Those games are available on PlayStation 4, but if you're looking for something for your PlayStation 3 or Vita then here are your options:

  • Master Reboot, PS3: A psychological horror game with adventure and puzzle elements. Master Reboot has a unique style and a distinct personality.
  • The Bridge, PS3 (Cross-Buy with PS4 and PS Vita): A neat, highly stylized puzzle game that messes with gravity in some interesting ways.
  • Rocketbirds 2: Evolution, PS Vita (Cross-Buy with PS4): A fun, gory, and light-hearted 2D action-platformer with 2-4 player co-op.
  • 2064 Read Only Memories, PS Vita (Cross-Buy with PS4): A cool old-school adventure game set in a cyberpunk world. Full of style and personality. Check out our review here.
There are also games available to download for PlayLink and PlayStation VR.

Here They Lie is your PlayStation VR title. A creepy and unsettling first-person horror game set in a nightmarish city inhabited by strange, malevolent creatures. Check out our review here. This is available to download until October 2nd.

Knowledge is Power is this month's PlayLink game. This trivia game, which allows players to connect from their phones, is ideal for parties or group get-togethers.

September's Plus games, including God of War 3 Remastered and Destiny 2, are still available to download another few days. Be sure to snag them before they go!
