Nintendo has announced Nintendo Live 2023, a brand new in-person event that's taking place in Seattle later this year. It'll be an "all-ages celebration of Nintendo fun", according to the Big N itself, and it'll feature Nintendo games, tournaments, and live performances, among other things.

This event was announced via Nintendo's official Twitter account. In its announcement tweet, Nintendo says Nintendo Live 2023 is an "in-person event for fans of all ages", and that it'll give you the chance to engage in Switch gameplay, tournaments, photo opportunities, and more.

On the event's official website, Nintendo promises the opportunity to play "popular Nintendo Switch games", with "familiar favorites" available. I'm guessing that means all the usual stalwarts: Super Smash BrosMario KartSplatoon, and other multiplayer mainstays. Tournaments will also be available, should you wish to engage in "high-level play".

Dry Bones, a Koopa Troopa, Waluigi, and a Lakitu racing in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, probably present at Nintendo Live 2023
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is likely to be one of the Switch games available to play at Nintendo Live 2023.

Other attractions promised for Nintendo Live 2023 include "live stage performances" and "thrilling competitions", as well as photo opportunities with iconic Nintendo characters. The teaser image for the event shows Mario and Luigi mascots posing next to a young child, as well as families enjoying games together and kids wearing Nintendo merchandise. Suffice it to say that if you're a Nintendo fan, Nintendo Live 2023 sounds like a must-visit event.

You'll note that one thing Nintendo doesn't promise for Nintendo Live 2023 is any new announcements. As such, it's probably not a good idea to expect this to be Nintendo's version of an E3 demonstration; we're unlikely to see any new game or hardware reveals at the event. Of course, we don't know everything about Nintendo Live 2023 just yet, so there's every chance new reveals could be added to the itinerary.

Nintendo Live 2023 comes to Seattle, WA in September. Nintendo says more information is on the way soon, so stay tuned for that.
