In a shocking move, Nintendo revealed that the previously shown 'Blast Ball' title from the Nintendo World Championship 2015 was actually a multiplayer mini-game contained within Metroid Prime: Federation Force for the 3DS. The brief trailer included a Federation gunship dropping off a group of three Federation troopers into a frozen wilderness. The game will use a first person perspective directly borrowed from Retro Studios' Metroid Prime series. This will be the first Metroid title to include any sort of multiplayer content since 2006's Metroid Prime Hunters.
The title will launch as a 3Ds exclusive within a 2016 launch window.
