A new entry in the Mario Tennis series for the Wii U appeared in the form of a trailer for Mario Tennis Ultra Smash. Keeping true to the Mario Tennis spin-off series, over-the-top power ups were teased with mega-mushrooms in a doubles match. Power ups like this are sure to make a, pardon the bad joke, a big difference in gameplay. The aesthetics shown most closely resemble Mario Power Tennis game that came out on the Gamecube in 2004 and then again in 2009 on the Wii with new motion controls.
The launch window will be holiday 2015.
