Publisher Merge Games and German-based developer Ion Lands revealed their narrative-driven sci-fi title, Cloudpunk, back in 2018. The studio has confirmed their title won't be a PC exclusive anymore, as it is now coming to PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
Cloudpunk presents itself as a futuristic adventure where players work for a courier company in the fictional city of Nivalis. Every time you hop on your flying car, there is a chance you encounter humans, androids, and AI characters with unique stories to tell. Cloudpunk puts you in the shoes of Rania as she gets to explore the world around her.
The title adopts a voxel graphics art style to bring its open-world to life. The development team drew inspirations from narrative-driven video games and real-life cities, namely Firewatch and Kentucky Route Zero alongside Hong Kong and Seoul respectively. So far, Cloudpunk was featured at several conventions, with the latest being EGX Berlin. The developer allowed players to experience roughly the first hour of gameplay the title has to offer in its current state. The following is a list of features of what Cloudpunk has to offer.
Explore an immense vertical cyberpunk city with your hovercar and on foot
Unravel mysteries in a world of corporate conspiracy, hackers and rogue AI through the eyes of Rania
Meet a diverse range of characters and immerse yourself in their everyday lives
Your decisions will have a lasting impact on the inhabitants of Nivalis
Discover hidden places and items unlocking additional stories
Cloudpunk doesn't have a set release date, but it is scheduled to launch later this year for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
