Metal Gear Online is Making a Return

It has been revealed that Hideo Kojima will be showing the world premiere of multiplayer game, Metal Gear Online at The Game Awards. Geoff Keighley announced the news on his twitter that Kojima will be there to show the game.

Previous incarnations of Metal Gear Online have been released with Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence in 2006 and as a bundle with Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots in 2008. However on Feb 12, 2012 Konami announced that the servers for the game would be shutdown on June 12, 2012.

This new Metal Gear Online is likely the be the online component of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, which is due out next year.

It is unclear whether a demo or just a trailer will be shown. The Game Awards 2014 will take place on Dec. 5 in Las Vegas and will be streamed on Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, Steam, Wii U along with YouTube, Twitch and more.
