Well-established tabletop studio and publisher CMON created a number of impressive titles, including the likes of Zombicide, Blood Rage, The Others, Arcadia Quest, and more. Their latest creation is Marvel United, and its Kickstarter campaign went live yesterday and it is nothing short of spectacular so far.
The studio managed to crack its $50K funding goal in less than half an hour. Although everything is happening at an outstanding pace, the studio has been incredibly responsive with their milestones updates and continuously posting updates for their backers. As of the time of writing, there are over 7,000 backers pushing Marvel United's funding a little above the $450K mark.
Marvel United brings the superhero universe to the tabletop experience. The Chibi-inspired art style, alongside an all-new visual take by Edouard Guiton to aid in creating the character sculptures, brings a fresh take on the characters we all know and love. The game is designed to last around 40 minutes and played between two to four players. Players will have to use their hero card special actions and combinations to take down the villains. The latter weakens once you rescue civilians from their evil schemes, take down their thugs, and sabotage their plans.
Its content features eight unique location tiles, one mission board, three villain dashboards, thirty-six masterplan cards, sixty hero cards, and much more. What the final product will feature definitely depends on the number of milestones the community manages to reach, and there are no signs it is stopping anytime soon.
The latest milestone update promises to bring the "the Kickstarter Exclusive Bullseye Villain, including his sculpt, deck of 12 Masterplan cards, 6 Threat cards, 4 KO tokens, and Villain dashboard." This is set at $380k, just less than $40k than where it is at right now.
