Eleventh Hour Games is finally ready to fully release its highly-anticipated action RPG Last Epoch following a long time in early access, and the 1.0 patch notes have been released.
The game has been in early access on Steam for almost five years, since April 2019, so its fans have been waiting for the full release for quite a while. The coveted version 1.0 will launch on Steam in just two days, on February 21.
Incidentally, we learn that, to prepare for the update, the servers will be shut down temporarily tomorrow, February 20, at 11:00 a.m. CST.
The server downtime will also bring down the authentication service, so if you want to play offline, you'll have to log in and start playing before the servers shut down.
Incidentally, version 1.0 will have a full offline mode which will not require logging in at all, so this is the last time you have to deal with this.
Below you can watch an overview of the patch narrated by gamedirector Judd Cobler.
Here's a condensed list of what you can expect from version 1.0.
- Acolyte Mastery: Warlock
- Rogue Mastery: Falconer
- Item Factions: Circle of Fortune and Merchant's Guild
- New Primalist Skill: Gathering Storm
- Rework to Primalist's Skill: Tempest Strike
- New Paladin Skill: Healing Hands
- Resonances
- Full Offline Mode
- Scene Variant System & Lighting Improvements
- New Cinematics
- Full Controller Support
That being said, the full patch notes are much more extensive, and you can find them on the official forums.
If you're unfamiliar with Last Epoch, it's a loot-based action RPG in a similar vein to Diablo and Path of Exile, albeit it certainly has plenty of elements that distinguish its from its older cousins.
While the early access started in 2019, the game's success story started with a Kickstarter campaign in 2018, during which the first demo was released. It funded the project with over $250,000 in pledges from its backers.
