During a panel at Bitsummit Let's Go! in Kyoto, Japanese publisher Kakehashi Games had an interesting announcement to make to celebrate its 10th anniversary.

The publisher will start publishing Japanese and Asian games in the west, starting with Sagres by ooze and Sonokuni by Don Yaza Crew. While the latter will release for PC in 2024, the former has already been released in April this year on Steam but only in Japanese, accruing "very positive" reviews.

Western gamers may not be familiar with Kakehashi Games, but they're very experienced in publishing and localizing (via local localization partners) many popular western games in Japan and Asia. Among them there is the Oxenfree seriesCassette Beasts, Return to Monkey IslandCult of the Lamb, Neon White, Trek to Yomi, Weird West, Sifu, and many more.

If you're interested in the whole list, you can check it at the publisher's official site

Considering that there are many Japanese and Asian games that never get published in English due to lack of interest from Western publishers, it's great to hear that now they have one more option closer to home to get their games on our PCs and consoles.

Of course, we'll keep an eye on any further announcements from Kakehashi Games and their partners, and you can expect to read about any further publishing plans here on TechRaptor.
