Broccoli hosted the 3rd-anniversary livestream for the highly praised otome visual novel Jack Jeanne, announcing that a sequel is coming.
During the recorded broadcast on the game's official YouTube channel, an on-screen text panel revealed that the production project of a sequel has started.
That's literally it, no further information was provided, as you can see below.
If you're unfamiliar with Jack Jeanne, it's an otome visual novel with dating sim mechanics released in Japan on March 18, 2021, for Nintendo Switch and on the same date last year for iOS and Android. The Switch version was also released in the West courtesy of Aksys Games fairly recently, in June 2023, receiving rather vocal critical acclaim.
If you're unfamiliar with Otome visual novels, the term (which means "maiden" in Japanese) indicates a sub-genre usually featuring female protagonists loved by several handsome male characters. While they're mainly popular among an audience of young women, there certainly are men (like yours truly) who enjoy them.
Jack Jeanne certainly stands out for its art and writing by Sui Ishida, whom you may know for his work on the Tokyo Ghoul and Choujin X manga.
The story focuses on Kisa Tachibana, a young aspiring actress who cross-dresses to attend an acting school that admits only boys, many of whom specialize in performing female roles.
As mentioned above, we don't know any details about the new game, including the platforms or a release window. We'll have to wait for further information.
Incidentally, if you'd like to purchase a physical copy of the original Jack Jeanne, you can do so on Amazon.
