Today Cygames revealed the official title and new images of the newest game by Kenichiro Takaki, Garnet Arena: Mages of Magicary.

The game was announced all the way back in May 2021 with the code name "Project GAMM," and while platforms have not been announced just yet, we know that it's coming for consoles.

If the name Kenichiro Takaki doesn't ring a bell, he's known as the creator and producer of the Senran Kagura series before he left Marvelous in 2019 to move to Cygames to take care of the developer's console games production.

Garnet Arena: Mages of Magicary's catchphrase is "the most beautiful battle in the world" and it's based on the concepts of elegance, beauty, and flashy, smooth combat. It's set in "Noir" the world of Sun and Rain, where wizards battle each other with powerful magical spells.

The reveal comes with the opening of the Cygames Artwork Exhibition at the Ueno Royal Museum in Tokyo, where concept art and a video of the game are being showcased. Unfortunately, the press release mentions that the video will be available only at the venue, so it likely won't be published online for now.

That being said, we get to see artwork (the first three images in the gallery below) and new screenshots featuring Garnet Arena: Mages of Magicary's characters in action.

Now that the title has been revealed, hopefully we won't have to wait much longer to hear and see more about the game, which is a multiplayer action game and features character design by Mogumo and music by Shiro Sagisu of Neon Genesis Evangelion fame.

In the meanwhile, if you're interested in more games by Cygames, you can read the latest news about Granblue Fantasy Relink and Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, shared respectively at Gamescom and at EVO 2023.
