Four new games are on their way to Nintendo Switch Online. You're getting three action-packed SNES games and one NES puzzler. If you have a Japanese Switch Account, you can also grab a beloved cult JRPG on the Japanese side of things.

What games are coming to Nintendo Switch Online?

Starting from February 17th, Nintendo Switch Online subscribers will have access to four new games, one of which is coming to the US for the first time as part of the service. Here's what you're getting if you're signed up.

Psycho Dream - SNES (Super Famicom)

Psycho Dream, a Super Famicom platformer released on Nintendo Switch Online

This cult action platformer was originally only available on Super Famicom in Japan, but for the first time has a localized release in English. You must delve into the murky world of D-Movies to rescue your friend Sayaka from a terrifying game known as Legend of the Fallen Capital.

Doomsday Warrior - SNES

Doomsday Warrior, a SNES action game released on Nintendo Switch Online

An evil wizard recruits seven individuals in order to conquer the Earth. One warrior resists the wizard's influence and must go up against their erstwhile comrades to restore peace and balance. This one's a one-on-one fighter with some light RPG elements.

Prehistorik Man - SNES

If you like your platformers colorful and cartoony, you'll love Prehistorik Man. You are, as you might expect, a caveman. It's your mission to get back the food that was stolen from you by a group of frankly rude dinosaurs.

Fire 'n Ice - NES

Fire 'n Ice should suffice for those of a more intellectual bent. It's a firefighting puzzler in which, rather uniquely, you can create your own puzzles. You are Dana, the chosen warrior of the Queen of the Winter Fairies. With your ice magic, you must defend Coolmint Island from an evil wizard (yes, another one).

Shin Megami Tensei 2 - Super Famicom (need Japanese account)

Shin Megami Tensei 2, a JRPG released on the Japanese Nintendo Switch Online service

This Japan-only cult JRPG stars an all-new cast of characters, but features the same first-person battling and dungeon exploration as the original Shin Megami Tensei. It follows on from the launch of the first game on the Japanese Switch Online service last July. Remember, if you want to access the Japanese Nintendo Switch Online, you need merely to create an account on the device set to Japan and make use of the Super Famicom app. Do be aware, though, that Shin Megami Tensei 2 is entirely in Japanese. It's a fairly text-heavy JRPG, too, so you might not get much out of it if you don't speak the language.

More Nintendo Switch Online perks

It's not just new games you can get stuck into with Nintendo Switch Online. As well as the aforementioned titles, you'll also get a chance to give Overcooked! 2 a try on Nintendo's hybrid system. To commemorate Valentine's Day, Nintendo is offering the chance to play the full version of Overcooked! 2, starting today. You'll have until February 16th to play it, which should give you plenty of time to figure out which of your co-op partners you hate the most. Overcooked! 2 will be available from 9 am PST today until 11:59 pm PST on February 16th.

Overcooked 2, which is being offered as a full game trial on Nintendo Switch Online for part of this month
You can play the full version of Overcooked! 2 as a Nintendo Switch Online subscriber for part of this month.

As ever, having a Nintendo Switch Online membership is necessary if you want to play most Switch games online. You can also access a pretty impressive library of NES and SNES games on the service, as well as some member-exclusive perks and benefits. Be sure to check out the official Nintendo Switch Online website if you want to learn more about Nintendo's online offerings.
