The Bunker and The Complex publisher Wales Interactive has revealed its next project. Gamer Girl is a multi-branching FMV narrative thriller coming to PC and consoles this September.

What exactly is Gamer Girl?

Wales Interactive and developer FMV Future describe Gamer Girl as "a chilling FMV thriller with live stream simulation". You play as the chat moderator for streamer Abicake99 (played by Alexandra Burton), who's making a return to the world of streaming after the controversial disappearance of her friend Becky. You must moderate Abicake99's chat, making sure bad actors are removed and guiding Abi's choices as she faces an anonymous predator in her chat. You can check out the teaser trailer for Gamer Girl right here:

Gameplay-wise, Gamer Girl offers the chance to simulate moderating a streamer's chatroom. You can dish out rewards for good behavior and punish trolls by banning them. As you progress, you'll unlock more powerful moderation abilities, which you must use in moderation (no pun intended) to balance out Abi's good mood with making sure her chat doesn't get out of hand. If Abi's mood deteriorates too much, you'll fail, so you'll need to make sure you don't fall foul of too many bad calls. Along the way, Gamer Girl will also ask you to make moral choices. You might, for example, need to choose between ratcheting up drama to increase viewers or being honest and losing followers. All of this while investigating a threat that could be seriously dangerous for Abi and her channel.

You'll be able to check out Gamer Girl when it launches on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch this September. It'll star live-action actors Alexandra Burton, David Wayman, Rebecca Calienda, and Sofia Maffei. You can also expect cameos from real-life streamers including CyborgAngel.
