Sega has released a brand new gameplay trailer for the upcoming party game Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- Sweep the Board, which bears more than a passing resemblance to Mario Party.

The "Game Overview" trailer does exactly what it says on the tin, introducing Sweep the Board's gameplay systems, boards, and minigames, among other things.

As a game of Sweep the Board begins, you and up to three other players will select your character from Demon Slayer's extensive roster. As the trailer points out, "even the Hashira are here".

Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- Sweep the Board will feature tons of characters from the manga and anime.

Boards featured in the game will incorporate famous locations from the anime, including Tsuzumi Mansion, Mt. Natagumo, and the Mugen Train.

Once a game of Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- Sweep the Board begins, you'll roll a die and start moving, aiming to reach a destination marked by a Kasugai Crow.

Much like in Mario Party, you'll encounter random events as you explore the board. You could recruit allies, for instance, or gather items that can help you or hinder other players.

Naturally, you'll also be competing against your fellow players in a host of minigames, and Sega is promising that these games will feature "intuitive controls", so even those who don't game regularly should be able to enjoy this one.

When night falls, demons will begin to appear on the board, but you'll be able to enlist the help of Nezuko to get you through.

Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- Sweep the Board was originally unveiled back in September last year. It's not the first Demon Slayer video game - that honor goes to 2021's Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles - but it's certainly the first party game based on the property.

The game is due to launch exclusively on Nintendo Switch on April 26th. Stay tuned for more info on this one.
